What if a matter needs more than my plan covers?
We'll tell you before we start and quote a fixed fee for the extra work, or suggest a plan that fits better. You won't get an invoice you didn't agree to. Larger projects, such as capital raising or buying or selling a business, are always quoted as a fixed fee, and litigation sits outside our subscriptions.
Can I just get one thing done, without a subscription?
Yes. Tell us what you need and we'll quote a fixed fee upfront. If ongoing support would suit you better, we'll say so.
Is there a lock-in contract?
Subscriptions have a 12-month minimum term. That lets us do upfront work, like getting your key documents in place, and spread the cost evenly across the year. After that, it's month to month and you can cancel with 30 days' notice.
Who will I actually be working with?
Your own lawyer, who gets to know your business through regular check-ins. mySMB Legal is led by Principal Lawyer Rebekah Edwards.
Do you use AI?
Yes. We use secure AI-assisted tools to work faster on routine tasks, which helps us keep our fees fixed and our turnaround quick. A lawyer reviews every piece of work, and your advice always comes from a lawyer. Your information stays confidential and isn't used to train public AI models.
Do you work with businesses outside Sydney?
Yes. We work with businesses Australia-wide by phone and video, and we're happy to meet in person in Sydney.
